****Make sure you PIN this easy dinner idea here!****

My wish list for any dinner I have to make on a weeknight includes: quick, easy, at least semi-healthy, and that doesn’t use too many dishes because there is nothing I hate more than spending longer cleaning with whiney, tired kids, than I spent cooking the meal. Oh and of course I want it to be delicious so I am not left with 5 plates still full of food pushed around after all that effort of the above.

When you are balancing babies, toddlers, school schedules, after school activities, and homework, not to mention trying to give your kids a bath quite a bit more than the one night a year it is actually convenient, dinner really has to be simple to keep everyone’s sanity in tact. We do a lot of kid friendly favorites that I like to makeover into a simple, healthyversion that the hubs and I can really enjoy too. That is exactly how the Sloppy Joe Chicken bake was born.

Sloppy joes are super kid friendly and fun. I remember making sloppy joes with Manwich as a kid. I always loved thehearty sauce with a sweet and tangy taste. The sauce itself doesn’t have any meat so it is the perfect way to simplify making dinner by adding it to meat, but also pastas, sandwiches, or anything else you need a quick shot of flavor on.

Since one of my favorite go-to meals are my chicken bakes, I knew the Sloppy Joe chicken bake had to happen. With just 3 ingredients and 1 dish, both prep and clean up are minimal and you can serve it any way your family likes it!

Sloppy Joe Chicken Bake {Easy Family Friendly Dinner Idea} (2)All you need is a pack of chicken breasts, Manwich sauce, and some sharp cheddar cheese. I usually use 3-4 chicken breasts, but you can use as many chicken breasts as you need for your family, just add an additional can for every 3-4 chicken breasts you use. Pour Manwich over the top. There are three flavors to choose from for your family’s tastes:Manwich Original, Manwich Bold and Manwich Thick & Chunky. I used Manwich Thick & Chunky here to make it extra hearty, as well as, hide a few extra veggies in there, but you can use whatever you like best. Then just top it with cheese and bake. My family are cheese lovers, but if you have special dietary restrictions, you can also leave the cheese off and it will be just as delicious.

Once you take it out of the oven you can serve it up however you like. My older kids love sandwiches of any kind (and especially the sloppy joe kind!) so I put theirs on a hamburger bun. It is great because the Kid-Stopping Power of Manwich makes meals a messy-licious treat to be enjoyed with both hands – givingyouan easy, quality ingredient to bring the family’s attention back to mealtime and away from everyday distractions. My little ones who aren’t quite ready for a sandwich get the same yummy meal chopped up and served with rice and Dad and I put the Sloppy Joe chicken over rice and top it with chopped bell pepper and onion for a very deliciously grown up version of our favorite comfort food.
