10 Favorite Ina Garten Recipes | Alexandra's Kitchen (1)

There are a few recipes in Ina Garten’s latest book, Cook Like a Pro, that are calling my name: cauliflower toasts, chicken thighs with creamy mustard sauce, and Daniel Rose’s pear clafouti.

But what I am most excited to see more than anything is that she has included her recipe for homemade ricottain the “Pro Basics” section of the book. It’s such a good one! I make this recipe year-round: in the spring for endive and fava salad tartines, in the summer with fresh tomatoes and basil, and in the fall and winter with roasted squash and onion jam à la ABC Kitchen.

Friends, I’ve rounded up my 10 favorite Ina recipes below. What have I missed? What are your favorite Ina recipes??

1. Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Balsamic and Pancetta

2. Beatty’s Chocolate Cake

3. Roasted Broccoli with Garlic, Parmesan, and Lemon

4. Mustard-Roasted Chicken

5. Pasta Alla Vecchia Bettola: AKA Pasta With The Best Vodka Sauce You Will Ever Make

6. Espresso Ice Box Cake

7. Tri-Berry Muffins

8. Baked Fontina with Herbs

9. Homemade Ricotta

10. Charlie Bird Farro Salad

Those look amazing! I think that chocolate cake needs my immediate attention! Can’t wait to try your favs of hers! And if you haven’t tried her orange yogurt https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/orange-yogurt-recipe-1940276
Please do so because it’s so delicious. Draining out all the tasteless liquid in the yogurt and replacing it with orange juice…..such a genius move. I like mine super thick so you have control of how much to add. Thanks for sharing! Happy Halloween!!

I have not made her orange yogurt but it sounds completely delicious … yum!! Thanks so much for sharing. Happy Halloween to you as well!

Earlier this year I copied the broccoli recipe from your site and it became an instant favorite in this house. Tonight’s dinner included these brussel sprouts which were also delicious. I haven’t tried the mustard roasted chicken but last night did have Ina Garten’s chicken thighs with mustard sauce – another winner. Thank you for including these wonderful choices.

    • alexandraReply

Yay! I’m going to try the creamy mustard chicken thighs in the next day or so. Can’t wait!

Must include Ina’s Asian Grilled Salmon which is a regular in our house. It’s delicious and will convert anyone into a salmon lover!
Also her Lemon Yogurt Cake is awesome!

    • alexandraReply

Ohhhh both of these sound lovely!! You’re making me want to head to my fish market ASAP. And a lemon-yogurt cake sounds like a good one to know. Thanks!

      • SallyReply

I love her original lemon cake – it’s amazing.

        • alexandraReply

ohhhh yum, Sally, … adding to the list 🙂

I love Ina (and you, of course!). Her parmesan chicken is a staple in my house, and has converted my 6 yo to like chicken – and my 12 yo said, “Mommy, this is SO GOOD!” You have to use super thin cutlets – I use less flour and more parm and breadcrumbs than the recipe.

Thank you SO much for sending this along with your helpful tips … going to make it ASAP!!

Cheers on the choice of the pasta with vodka. Not only the best but the easiest pasta sauce!

    • alexandraReply

      Right??? SO good.

  6. shirleyReply

I’ve tried so many of her recipes and liked them all, but I would have to say We like her Shrimp and orzo pasta salad. And of course her chicken. I made her rolled stuffed turkey breast and it was very good. The presentation was wow.

    • alexandraReply

Shrimp-orzo pasta salad sounds amazing! Must try soon. Thanks for the tip!

Ina’s Ribollita Soup is a favorite in my house. I add some Parmesan rinds, but otherwise, it’s perfection. TJ’s has a 4oz. pkg of diced pancetta to start things off (so it’s not vegetarian), but please try it. You’ll be glad you did.

Ohhh thank you for this!! I must try it ASAP. And thanks for the TJ’s tip… so handy.

I really like her maple granola…. so good with yogurt or by itself. Makes a nice gift too!
